Sports hub launched at Al Maryah
Abu Dhabi’s business and lifestyle destination Al Maryah Island has announced the launch of its new sports and recreation destination, Active.
Located on the north side of Al Maryah Island, Active is a world-class sports destination powered by Zayed Sports City (ZSC). It boasts three outdoor football fields, four tennis courts covering a total area of 3,200 sq m and four multipurpose sports courts, which cover a total area of 4,224 sq m.
The outdoor Fifa-standard natural grass football field covers an area of 8,970 sq m, while both Fifa two-star artificial turf fields cover a total area of 17,940 sq m. Eight courts at Active further create a fitness zone to accommodate a vast range of sports. All courts offer an ATP approved surface for tennis matches and lessons with ZSC Academy, with four marked for multipurpose use.
Azizi’s Mina set for handover
Azizi Developments has announced that 99 per cent of the work has been completed on its premium mixed-use project, Mina, located at Palm Jumeirah, Dubai.
Spanning nearly 38,500 sq m of built-up area, Mina features 178 units, comprising 120 one- and 54 two-bedroom as well as four spacious residences.
The project also features several retail units across 1,847 sq m and over 69 per cent of the project’s total area is allocated for lifestyle-enhancing amenities, including a children’s play area, a jogging track, and green outdoor spaces, private beach access, two swimming pools, a fully-equipped gym and a comprehensive health club.
Water network project on track
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) said it has completed 87.73 per cent of its project to extend its water transmission network by 36 km across Dubai, at a total cost of Dh256 million ($70 million). The project should be complete by April 2021.
The project locations include extensions along Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road and Emirates Road; and connections between the Hassyan Pump Station to Dubai Investments Park and Dubai World Central; from Nakhali Reservoir to Alaweer roundabout alongside the Dubai-Hatta Road and Muhaisnah; and from Margham wells to Dubai Al Ain Road.
Executive Vice-President (Water & Civil) Abdullah Obaidullah said that the project has two sections. Section A is 11.811 km in total and Section B is 24.03 km in total.
